On October 1, 2018, the Town will begin the final phase of a streetscape project intended to provide a safe pathway for pedestrians and cyclists on South Atlantic Avenue and Cedarwood Street. The project will also involve some work on Ashwood Street designed to improve drainage in the area.
The project will create new porous blacktop roadway surfaces (to aid with drainage) and create safe pedestrian/cyclists pathways on Cedarwood Street and the remaining unimproved portion of South Atlantic Avenue between Parkwood St. and Garfield Parkway.
It is estimated the project may last as long as ten weeks and there will be brief periods where street(s) may be closed in their entirety to vehicular traffic. When that occurs, you will still be able to access your property on foot, but it may be necessary to park on adjacent streets until the closed road is reopened.
The Town and it’s contractors will make every effort to notice you when these street closures will occur. We apologize in advance for any problems this project may cause, but feel the end result will be well worth any brief inconvenience.
